Abba Receives Award in Malacanang Ceremonies
Abba received it POEA's "Award of Excellence" in ceremonies held in Malacanang on February 10. President Aquino conferred the awards on several recruitment agencies, sea-based and land based, in the presence of diplomatic and other government officials.
Abba was represented by Marc Dupaya, Joy Arnibal, Bonna Magno, and Nestor Flores.
It is the fourth such ceremony for POEA since 2001. Abba received an award in each of the 4 ceremonies, starting in 2001, and then in 2005, 2009, and 2014. In the first 3 ceremonies, Abba received the "Top Performer Award".
In this 4th ceremony, Abba was the sole recipient of the "Award of Excellence" under the land-based category; there were 4 other awardees in two other categories.
The Awards are given by POEA every 3 or 4 years, to agencies " based on volume of deployment, compliance with recruitment laws and rules, responsiveness to workers' welfare on site, technical capability, marketing capability and welfare programs and allied services.
