It’s your chance to practice nursing in one of the most advanced healthcare systems in the world while building a brighter future for yourself and your loved ones.

A crucial step in this journey is your embassy interview. This stage is more than a requirement; it’s a defining moment where your preparation and confidence can greatly influence the outcome. Arriving with complete and organized documents not only prevents unnecessary delays but also reflects your readiness and determination to pursue your USRN career.

At Abba, in partnership with Epic International Staffing, we recognize how important this milestone is for every aspiring nurse. That’s why we go beyond recruitment — offering personalized guidance, practical resources, and step-by-step support to set you up for success. From ensuring your documents are complete to preparing you for the interview itself, we are committed to walking with you throughout your USRN journey.

To help you prepare with ease, we’ve put together a comprehensive guide to the essential documents you’ll need for your embassy interview. Having these requirements ready will make the process smoother and bring you one step closer to achieving your American dream. With the right preparation, you can step into your interview with confidence, ready to take the next big leap in your USRN journey.

Appointment Letter. The National Visa Center (NVC) will either provide you with your official interview appointment date or give you specific instructions on how to schedule one. This step confirms that your case is ready for processing at the U.S. Embassy. Keeping track of this information is essential, as missing or overlooking your appointment may cause delays in your USRN journey.

DS-260 Confirmation Page. Epic will assist you in completing your D-S260 form, and once it's submitted, a confirmation page will be received and they will provide it to you prior to the embassy interview. Without it, your case cannot move forward, so be sure to print and keep it with your other important documents.

Pictures. The applicant, along with any dependents, must bring multiple copies of their visa photos that meet U.S. Embassy requirements. Make sure the photos strictly follow the official guidelines on size, background, and quality. For detailed specifications, please visit the official website.

PSA-Issued Birth Certificate. A certified copy of your birth certificate from the PSA is required to verify your identity, age, and civil status. This official document is also needed to confirm family relationships, especially if you are applying with dependents. Make sure you secure an updated copy and bring the original along with photocopies to your embassy interview.

Valid Passport. Your passport must be valid for at least six (6) months beyond your intended date of travel to the United States. This serves as your primary proof of identity and nationality, and it is required for visa issuance. Be sure your passport is in good condition, with no damage to its pages, and prepare photocopies of the biographic page for your embassy interview.

Valid NBI Clearance. An updated NBI clearance is required to certify that you have no pending criminal cases in the Philippines. It must be issued for “Travel Abroad” purposes and valid on the interview date. Always bring the original document along with photocopies.

Police Clearance. Applicants who have worked or stayed in another country for more than six (6) months are required to obtain a police clearance from that country. This document verifies your good conduct and certifies that you have no criminal record during your stay abroad. Be sure to secure the original clearance and bring photocopies as well, since it may be requested during your embassy interview.

ree

Evidence of Relationship. To establish the authenticity of the relationship between the petitioner and the visa applicant, supporting documents must be presented. These may include photographs, letters, or emails that demonstrate regular contact and a genuine relationship. Bringing organized and clear evidence helps the consular officer verify your case and avoid delays during the embassy interview.

CENOMAR (Certificate of No Marriage Record). For single applicants, a CENOMAR issued by the PSA is required. This document must be valid within one (1) year from the date of issuance. Carefully check that all details are accurate, including your full name, any aliases used, your parents’ names, and your date of birth. You can conveniently request this document through the official PSA website at https://psa.gov.ph. Bringing this certificate ensures that your civil status is properly verified during your embassy interview.

Marriage Certificate. For married applicants, an original marriage certificate must be presented along with an official English translation. If the marriage was celebrated in the Philippines, you are also required to bring an Advisory on Marriage issued by the PSA. Ensure that all details on the certificate are correct and consistent with your other records. You may request this document through the official PSA website at https://psa.gov.ph

Job Offer Letter. You must present the original job offer letter from your U.S. employer, clearly stating a salary that meets the local prevailing wage. The letter must be dated within the past one (1) year and accompanied by a photocopy. This document confirms your employment opportunity in the United States and is a key requirement in demonstrating the legitimacy of your petition.

.

VisaScreen Certificate. This certificate is required for foreign healthcare professionals, including nurses, to verify that their credentials, education, and English proficiency meet U.S. standards. Please ensure that your VisaScreen is valid within five (5) years from the date of issuance, as only a valid certificate will be accepted during your embassy interview and for visa processing. Keeping this document up to date is essential to avoid delays in your USRN journey.

NCLEX Pass Letter or Quick License Verification from Nursys. This document serves as official proof that you have successfully passed the NCLEX-RN exam. You may present either the NCLEX pass letter or a Quick License Verification from Nursys. Including this in your embassy interview documents strengthens your application by confirming your eligibility to practice as a USRN.

Preparing for your embassy interview is a critical step in your USRN journey, and having the right documents in order can make the process significantly easier. At Abba, in partnership with Epic International Staffing, we are committed to guiding and assisting you in securing some of these requirements so you can focus on what truly matters — your success.

Attention to detail plays a vital role in this stage. Make sure that all the documents you prepare for yourself are also available for your dependents, if applicable. Bring both the original copies and at least two (2) photocopies of each document to avoid any delays during the interview.

If you have unique circumstances—such as past military service, previous marriages, adoption, or court/prison records—it’s essential to coordinate closely with your employer or agency. These cases are handled individually and require proper documentation to ensure your application moves forward smoothly.

By taking these extra steps, you not only show your preparedness but also build the confidence you need to face your embassy interview. With the right preparation and support, you’ll be ready to take this important step toward achieving your dream of becoming a USRN.
